Product Details
Fragmented Dynastes Herculus from Central America, in a frame made from black oak. The male is famous for his impressive pincers, made by the two horns (on head and thorax), a dangerous weapon made to cut the shield of his competitors in two. Its breastplate is so solid that it protects Dynasts against most predators. This scientific display invented by Edmée François Chauvot de Beauchêne in the 19th century, allows the spectator to understand how the subject is built : each part of the body is separated with a small piece of brass showing us how this huge beetle is formed!
