Lime mortar is weaker than bricks, masonry and stones, yet it is able to support the full weight of a structure, allowing buildings to flex and move. It allows moisture to evaporate and walls to breathe. Using lime mortar can decrease the need for and frequency of expansion joints. Any moisture within the brickwork is allowed to escape naturally, reducing the risk of frost damage and ‘blowing’ of brick faces.

Our Heritage range of hydraulic lime mortars offer an authentic solution to period property renovation, and work perfectly with new builds. This range has been designed with specific conservation areas in mind to offer a variety of beautiful bespoke colours.

A 25kg bag will cover 2.8m2 at 10mm joint width for repointing or brick slip usage.

NHL 3.5	NHL 3.5 strength can be used for permeable masonry materials which is mainly used above ground. Generally, it is used for bricks, facings, commons, blockwork, bedding, sandstone, limestone, flint, terracotta, cavity, solid walls, pointing and repointing.
NHL 5	NHL 5 strength is commonly used for the foundations of buildings, coastal locations, or for parapets, coping’s and chimneys in external areas.
