Sea urchin on stand

Sphaerechinus granularis is a sea urchin up to 12cm in diameter. It's colour is a beautiful deep purple often with white ends to the spines. It feeds on seaweed on rocks between the surface and 100 m deep in the Atlantic ocean and also in the Mediterranean. The one we use here comes from the Italian coast.
